Thank you to Rachel and the netball team.

We decided that we would like to hold a netball tournament in honour of our little girl “April” who we lost at 23 weeks and 5 days back in 2006. In the second pregnancy we were monitored by Mr Impey and his team. Thanks to this team, Charlie our eldest, (almost 17), was born and parenthood began. We were so very grateful to the whole team who made sure we were educated and informed at every step of the way, to make sure Charlie arrived safely. The same team enabled us to welcome our youngest son Ollie, (now almost 15), to the world and make our family complete.

Thanks to the team we are now a great family with 2 strapping lads 6ft 3 and 5 ft 10 with still time to grow!

Without the Silver Star unit, we may not have become parents and enjoyed all that our two boys have given us. We wanted to give something back, so we ran a charity netball tournament in the summer to help raise the funds to help other families, to have the results we have had and be able to enjoy parenthood.

So many commented on what a wonderful charity we were raising money for and some not realising what we went through in making our family. Many were very

interested to hear about the charity and the great work the unit does. We also had many donations from people that could not attend as they were so touched by our story. We had some truly amazing raffle donations from local companies from Hampers, vouchers and wine to days out at farms and the local cinema. We are hoping we can do the same again in coming years to continue to help this wonderful unit.

We managed to raise £1,407.00 for the Silver Star charity and raised much awareness for the wonderful job they do.
